Projects — Mixed Use
Gordon Shopping Centre
The Gordon Centre Redevelopment is a feasibility study that explores the creation of a new 8,400m² retail destination, with Woolworths, a mini major, speciality shops, restaurants & food courts, fully integrated with 550 residential apartments above.
This study delves further into concept design by exploring desirable elements of a retail destination including sun–filled plazas, outdoor dining, through–site links, connectivity with the nearby train station and surrounding context, all to invigorate the immediate area and attract new customers from afar.
Using the sun as the primary design driver, the residential apartments are sculpted to maximise sunlight to residents, but also provide light to the public piazza.
This sculpting is brought to ground to further enhance retail frontages and activate the entire ground plane for the public.
