Standing together for Australians in need
Delivering high-quality, tenure-blind housing with integrated social services is central to helping vulnerable Australians move toward independence. In response to Government funding, five projects celebrate Queensland’s Social Housing Design Guidelines. FNQ’s tropical climate—heat, humidity, and seasonal extremes—posed challenges for balancing liveability and efficiency.
Each building applies passive design, using sunlight for natural light and solar power, and enabling 100% cross-ventilation so air conditioning is optional. Robust, low-maintenance construction ensures longevity, with all projects meeting Liveable Housing Australia’s Gold Standard.
Generous outdoor spaces foster connection, while each design responds sensitively to its site and residents’ needs, creating inclusive, sustainable homes that support health, resilience, and community life.
Positive Impact
With social housing demand rising, Government is acting. Mission Australia is ahead—delivering sustainable, dignified homes that align with their mission to end homelessness, fostering independence and stronger communities through design that supports both liveability and long-term resilience.
