Nurturing community and connection
This project delivers 63 affordable housing units, including Specialist Disability Accommodation, plus a ground-level Community Support Hub that fosters community through high-quality public and private amenities.
Carefully modulated building forms and a restrained material palette integrate with surrounding development. Sustainability, passive design, and a strong connection to place underpin the design, providing essential housing and a framework for social connection.
An innovative waste strategy—servicing via a small custom garbage truck on a residential ramp—avoids the need for a large basement ramp or loading dock, preserving space for housing. It also enabled all required parking within a single basement level, improving commercial viability and maximising land use efficiency.
Positive Impact
This project addresses housing affordability by providing inclusive, sustainable homes for low to moderate income households. It exceeds sustainability standards, maximises comfort through passive design, and supplies discounted solar power to tenants, sharing surplus with Link Wentworth’s housing network.
